Jacklyn Kovach

Born in 1961 in Massachusetts, Jacklyn Kovach knew from a very young age that art was to be her passion in life. From her earliest memories Jacklyn has strived to capture the human figure and expression in its purest form. Her goal in doing so is not to replicate what she sees, but to bring life to her subjects by conveying their inner emotions and individual characteristics.

In 1968 Jacklyn moved from Massachusetts to Boynton Beach Florida with her family where she continued to draw and express herself through her art. Throughout her teen and young adult years she began to experiment with different mediums such as oils, pastels and acrylics. With each new and exciting skill she acquired, Jacklyn began to realize her potential as an artist. Painting became a true expression of who she was, and what she wanted to become. While the quest to constantly improve and develop her style was challenging in those early years, it was also very emotional and rewarding to bring life to canvas.

Jacklyn is a self-taught artist who was very fortunate to come from an artistic family who encouraged her exceptional talent. Her grandfather designed theatrical backdrops in the early nineteen hundreds, and her aunt was a landscape artist. She also has found memories as a child watching her sister (an expressionist portrait artist) paint. Her exposure to such artistic people at a young age helped to nurture her natural ability to see people in a unique way, which she so effortlessly recreates on canvas.

In 1998 Jacklyn had her first exposure to street painting, and even though she had never created paintings on such a grand scale before, she soon found that she had a natural talent for doing large scale works of art. Among the first of her street paintings were reproductions of great artist such as Pierre Auguste Renoir, and William Bouguereau, both of whom have greatly influenced her art. Her participation in street painting includes the Lake Worth street painting festival for thirteen years ( she has been a featured artist there for the past twelve years), Sarasota street painting festival, and Safety Harbor street painting festival where she won first prize for the best representation of mother and child. Jacklyn’s art has also been displayed at the West Palm Beach zoo where she has six large murals on display.

Jacklyn is currently resides in West Palm Beach Florida where she spends her days working on commissioned portraits and developing her artist skills.
